In 1936 the Thomaidis family acquired their first vineyards in the Pozar area. The first variety it cultivates is a wild variety found on trees. It is named “Amassi” from the homonymous city Amassia in the Pontus region, where the ancestors of the family come from.

Kitrvs Winery and Vineyards
Kitrvs is a winery from northern Pieria that its wines pretty fast created a sensation in the market. Its people draw strength from their faith in the potential of the land and especially of Pydna. The private vineyard is planted in a slope wtih northeastern exposure following the contemporary linear system and includes the white varieties Malagouzia and Verdicchio, and the red ones, Syrah and Aglianico. The vineyard management aims to achieve optimal ripeness of the grapes , following the rules of good agricultural practice and monitoring critical factors of cultivation. Generally it is a system with low yields that respects and maintains the local natural balance.
The overall quality that characterizes the winery at all production stages and consumers will understand and enjoy it when drinking their wines.

Gazoritis winery was created in 2006 with headquarters in Gazoro, Serres. Oenogea
winery is housed in a renovated 20th century grain warehouse building next to the local train station. «Gazoritis Winery» has been a result of the passion for quality wine, of the brothers John and Sotiris Boulios and friend Christos Tholoulis and has been functioning as a continuance of the local vineyard – winemaking tradition of the area as it arises from local history. The tradition and knowledge of the founding families of our winery, since 1955 in vineyards and winemaking, was passed on and evolved through time, creating today, with the aid of modern technology, excellent wines. Love of wine, methodical work, commitment and investment in high quality standards along with the continuing quest for perfection has created the wines you can now taste and promises the production of new, excellent wines, in the future. In 2019 the company went through a strategic rebranding in order to achieve better market placement abroad. The Oenogea brand was created for that purpose. “Gazoritis Winery” thus becomes “Oenogea Winery”;
